Background and Challenges

Before her eating disorder took hold, Chloe* was a happy, active teenager who loved life and thrived in social settings.

However, as orthorexia and anorexia took over, Chloe’s world became unrecognisable. She withdrew from her passions, struggled with debilitating social anxiety, and found herself in a cycle of guilt, shame, and exhaustion. Even basic needs like sitting, rest and sleep became unbearable. Physically weak and emotionally drained, her joy for life faded, leaving her family desperate for support.

Chloe’s health had reached a critical stage when her family turned to Light Minds Collective. Her physical condition was severe: her heart had shrunk as a result of malnutrition, she required weekly medical monitoring, and basic bodily functions had begun to shut down.

Emotionally, Chloe faced overwhelming challenges. She battled self-worth, social anxiety, and a constant sense of guilt. She struggled to attend school yet felt immense shame when she stayed home. Life had become joyless, consumed by negative feelings and resistance to recovery. With hospitalisation looming and conventional Family-Based Therapy (FBT) failing to resonate, Chloe fought all attempts of help and support, so her family sought an alternative approach to support her journey.

Light Minds Collective's Approach

Chloe began her journey with Zoë and Light Minds Collective at a pivotal moment. The at-home coaching provided a safe and familiar environment, free from a clinical atmosphere. Zoë’s holistic approach, combining mind, body, and soul practices, helped Chloe rediscover balance and rebuild her sense of self.

Journaling became an important part of Chloe’s recovery, helping her process emotions and shift her mindset. Zoë built a compassionate and empathetic relationship with Chloe, offering her a safe space to open up and explore her challenges without judgment.
